Sept. 27, 2017

We depart Bismarck early morning on Delta, for the great city of Chicago, arriving at lunch time. We transfer to our hotel, and enjoy lunch on our own at one of a variety of area restaurants. Mid-afternoon check in at the  Best Western River North Hotel. At 5:00 p.m. we walk to Chicago 360 (formerly John Hancock building) for a skyline view of the city. Tonight we experience Chicago Style Pizza at Giordano's. (D)

Day 2: Chicago

After breakfast we walk to Riverside Gardens on Chicago's Riverwalk for the Chicago Architecture Foundation's river cruise. It is a beautiful way to see the city.

We then have a short walk to Macy's where we enjoy lunch in the Walnut Room.

After lunch, we walk to the Art Institute of Chicago to tour at your leisure. The remainder of the afternoon is free. Walk or taxi (on your own) to the hotel.

We meet our tour escorts in the lobby at 6:30 p.m. for a short walk to Andy's Jazz for dinner and entertainment. (CB, L, D)

Day 3: Chicago

Sept. 29, 2017

This morning after breakfast we board a motor coach to the inspiring Jane Addams' Hull House, a National Historic Landmark and a memorial to the first American Woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. We have time to tour the home/museum and gift shop.

We travel to the Shedd Aquarium, an indoor aquarium featuring over 1500 species including fish, marine mammals, birds, snakes, amphibians and insects. Lunch is on your own at one of the aquarium's restaurants.

Late afternoon we are joined by a local guide for a "foody tour." Experience some of Chicago's traditional food and the "original" brownie. (B, D)

This morning after breakfast your morning is free.

This afternoon we meet at the Drake Hotel Palm Court for "High Tea," a tradition that began in 1840 by the Seventh Duchess of Bedford.

After tea, stroll down Michigan Avenue, "Chicago's Magnificant Mile," and enjoy window shopping -- and shopping!!

The remainder of the day is free. Should a theater production become available, we will offer it as an option.
