Joe Satrom

Joe Satrom has been involved in the travel industry in some capacity for three decades. He is a graduate of North Dakota State University. He served as North Dakota Tourism Director in the 1970s and was on the National Board of Travel Industry of America and the Old West Regional Commission. He also was awarded the state's highest tourism honor, the Greater North Dakota Association's Tourism Award. He served as the Friendship Force Chairperson for North Dakota and organized the first exchange visit between Bismarck and Hamburg, Germany. Joe currently serves on a policy committee for the National Tourism Association.  He served as the first Chairman of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. He served as TRMF Chairman a second time and retired from the board in 2006. He was a delegate to a White House Conference on Tourism. Joe is a member of the Board of Directors of Satrom Travel & Tour.

Day 1: North Dakota to Sioux City, Iowa

Nov. 12, 2017

We depart Bismarck this morning on our way to the "Live Entertainment Capital of the World" - Branson! Tonight we stop in Sioux City, Iowa, where Direct Travel/Satrom Tours will host a Welcome Dinner. (D)


Day 2: Branson

Nov. 13, 2017

After breakfast, we are on our way to Branson! We have an early dinner at Lambert's Cafe prior to our hotel check in at the Radisson Hotel. This evening we will head to the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre for the "Andy Williams" Christmas Show, starring Jimmy Osmond, the 5th Dimension and Rick Thomas. (CB, D)


Day 3: Branson

Nov. 14, 2017

Enjoy breakfast this morning before heading to the John Denver Tribute Show, at the Discovery Imax Mall. After the show there is free time to shop and dine, before we depart for the Titanic Museum. Here you will receive a boarding pass with a name of a Titanic passenger on it and experience the grand history from the world famous ship; only towards the end will you find out if you have survived.

Tonight we will attend The Miracle of Christmas show at the Sight and Sound Theatre. Before we head back to the hotel we will drive through the Branson Gift of Lights. (B, D)


Day 4: Branson

Nov. 15, 2017

This morning after breakfast at your leisure, we depart for the Clay Cooper Theatre. The Hot Rod and High Heels Show will take you back to the 1950s. Pure entertainment and fun for all.

After the show, we depart for Historic Downtown Branson for shopping and lunch on your own.

College of the Ozarks is our next destination and we will visit the Ozarks Ralph Foster Museum

Tonight we dine at Landry's Seafood restaurant before The Dutton's Show at the Dutton Family Theatre. (B, D)


Day 5: Branson to Shawnee Mission, Kansas

Nov. 16, 2017

After breakfast this morning we depart for Kansas City where upon arrival we lunch at the city market, on our own. We tour the Arabia Steamboat Museum, where we learn about the Arabia which sank in 1865 in the Missouri River. The fully preserved ship was excavated in the 1980s uncovering the largest pre-Civil War artifact collection in the world.

Check into the Drury Inn in Shawnee Mission; enjoy the "kickback" dinner the hotel provides. (There is a Denny's next door, as well.) The coach will depart the hotel at 6 p.m. for the Country Club Plaza, a shopping center. Return at 9 p.m.


Day 6: Shawnee Mission to Sioux Falls, SD

Nov. 17, 2017

After breakfast we depart for the Harry S Truman Library and Museum, featuring our 33rd President. After a lunch stop we have a late afternoon arrival in Sioux Falls.

Tonight Direct Travel/Satrom Tours hosts our Farewell Dinner. (B, D)


Day 7: Sious Falls to Home

Nov. 18, 2017

This morning after breakfast, we depart for North Dakota. We stop at the Redlin Art Center to see the works of Terry Redlin, one of the Country's most collected painters. Enjoy a box lunch in a souvenir tin. (B. L)

Cancellation: Tour is refundable if cancelled 45 days piror to departure. Within 45 days refunded only if space is resold.  All cancellations are subject to a $50.00 administration fee per person.  Insurance is highly recommended.

Activity Level for this tour is 3 -- Travelers must be able to participate in moderate physical activity, including walking tours, climbing stairs or uneven surfaces.  Itineraries may blend longer, active days with shorter days with more leisure time.
